Athina Onassis's former international ride AD Welcome du Petit Vivier (Flamenco Desemilly x Nonstop) has very sadly been put to sleep. The now 17-year-old gelding had been competing at the CSIO5* La Baule event with Brazilian rider Doda de Miranda's daughter, and was travelling back on the horse truck which ended up in a fatal accident that forced the decision to put AD Welcome du Petit Vivier down. 

In an emotional post on Instagram, Doda de Miranda writes: "Unfortunately we lost a magnificent horse that was part of our family, a true friend. He gave so much joy to all who rode and especially to my daughter who loved him immensely."
