Christian Ahlmann’s 2003 European Champion Cöster has passed away at the age of 23.

The grey Holsteiner gelding by Calato x Constant had a tremendous career with Ahlmann in the saddle, and next to winning double gold at the 2003 Europeans in Donauenschingen he also collected team gold at the 2005 Europeans in San Patrignano, team silver at the 2007 European in Mannheim as well as earning team bronze at the 2006 World Championships in Aachen and 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. During his career, Cöster won more than 1.5 million Euro in prize money.

Cöster did his last international competition in 2009, and went on to enjoy retirement life in the field at Christian’s stables in Marl, Germany.
