At the age of 26, Ludger Beerbaum’s former partner Couleur Rubin OLD (Cordalmé Z x Grannus) has passed away.

Bred by Harli Seifert, the Cordalmé Z-son made a career for himself in the international sport before turning to breeding duties. Following his licensing in Oldenburg in 1998 as a premium stallion with a score of 10 for free jumping, Couleur Rubin won silver at the Bundeschampionat for five-year-old showjumpers with Joachim Heyer. From then on, the stallion was competed by Beerbaum – and the two recorded victories and top placings at venues such as Basel, Geneva, Frankfurt, La Baule, Mannheim and Neumünster. In 2006, when he was only nine years old, Couleur Rubin was also placed in the World Cup Final in Las Vegas.

Some of Couleur Rubin's many successful offspring include Castle Forbes Cosma, ridden by Jessica Kürten and Roger Yves Bost, Max Kühner's EIC Julius Caesar, David Will's Pokerface and Andre Sakakini's Carott G.

"Couleur Rubin was the figurehead of Harli Seifert's breeding, an evergreen of our jumping stallion breeding and a grand seigneur who captivated you to the very end," Wolfgang Stagge, stud manager at Dressurpferde Leistungszentrum Lodbergen, said in a press release.
