Very sadly, Penelope Leprevost’s 15-year-old gelding Baloubet de Talma (Baloubet du Rouet x Cento) has passed away, the French rider shared on social media on Monday.
“It is with great sadness that we had to say goodbye to our Balou today, following an accident in freedom,” Leprevost shared on Instagram. “Thank you for everything you gave to all those who were lucky enough to cross your path. Your fiery temperament on the track, your generosity and courage, your gentleness and kindness on a daily basis made you an exceptional horse that will not be forgotten. Thank you for everything Balou.”
With Leprevost in the saddle, Baloubet de Talma recorded many placings up to five-star level – at the end of last year, the pair placed 5th in the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup in London as well as 7th in the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup in Lyon.
At World of Showjumping, our thoughts are with all those close to Baloubet de Talma.
