Very sadly, Julien Epaillard's Usual Suspect d'Auge (Jarnac x Papillon Rouge) has passed away. Bred at home at Susana and Julien Epaillard's own Haras de la Bosquetterie, the 14-year-old gelding was hugely successful with Epaillard, as well as more recently with Epaillard's rider Bilal Zaryouh. With Epaillard in the saddle, Usual Suspect d'Auge won the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Paris in 2017 and the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Doha in 2019.
On their official Instagram account for Haras de la Bosquetterie, Julien and Susana Epaillard wrote: "Usual suspect d’Auge, our favorite horse passed away yesterday. The entire Haras de la Bosquetterie team is obviously deeply sad. He has made the Auge affix known everywhere in the world, notably winning with Julien the prestigious Grand Prix of the Paris Eiffel jumping or the Global of Doha. He was a character. He will be truly missed by all of us!"
Our thoughts are with Susana and Julien, their team at Haras de la Bosquetterie and everyone close to Usual Suspect d'Auge.
