The 10-year-old stallion Funky Fred Marienshof Z (Fantomas de Muze x Libero H) has been sold to Ireland's Cian O'Connor.
Announcing the sale on social media, Stal Kersten wrote: "Thank you Funky Fred Marienshof Z. What an incredible journey it has been for him & @kerstenlars, with so many highlights along the way! Now we wish him all the success with his new owner @cianoconnor_official. We know he will do many great things in the future! Thank you to everyone behind the success with Funky Fred, our whole team at @stal_kersten , owners @stalmarienshof and so many people behind the scenes."
With Kersten in the saddle, Funky Fred Marienshof Z was part of the CSIO5* Longines League of Nations™ Final in Barcelona this month, as well as representing the Dutch in the CSIO5* Nations Cups in Brussels, Hickstead and Aachen.
"I’m excited to take over the reins on Funk Fred Marienshof Z," Cian O'Connor tells World of Showjumping. "He’s a wonderful horse and Lars has done an incredible job producing him."
"Most of the top horses that I had success with this season have either been sold or gone back to my students to compete," O'Connor continues. "I’m fortunate to have some great partners to support me to stay at the top of the sport and so I was able to acquire this very special stallion."
