The 14-year-old stallion Highway TN (Eldorado vd Zeshoek x Chellano Z, bred by P. Verdellen paarden fok & upfok and owned by Team Nijhof) will in the future be seen with the USA’s Lillie Keenan.
On Saturday, Team Nijhof announced that Highway TN has been leased to Keenan for 2026, with an option for 2027. “Highway is already in Wellington and has just come out of quarantine,” Team Nijhof wrote in their press release.
Highway TN has had a hugely successful career with Willem Greve (NED) in the saddle. In 2024, Highway TN and Greve won the CSI5* 1.60m Rolex Grand Prix in ‘s-Hertogenbosch and the CSI5*-W 1.55m Gothenburg Trophy and placed second in the CSI5*-W 1.60m FEI Jumping World Cup in Amsterdam. The two were on the Dutch team at the 2023 European Championships in Milan, and in 2025, placed 7th at the FEI Jumping World Cup Final in Basel.
“We are enormously grateful to Willem Greve and his groom Richard Skillen for the extraordinary things they have achieved with Highway,” Team Nijhof stated in their press release.
“Together with Highway, I have realized my dreams; I think he is my most successful horse,” Willem Greve shared in the press release from Team Nijhof. “He went through fire for me, we were a team, and he has a very special place in my heart. I hope he can show what he is capable of on the other side of the world, and fortunately, he is joining a rider who will give him that opportunity.”
“Highway can for sure be called Willem Greve's most successful horse, but the national coach sees something more in Grandorado TN and Pretty Woman van 't Paradijs for this year's World Equestrian Games in Aachen,” Team Nijhof shared in the press release. “The above was also the reason that the N.O.P. Foundation decided last fall, to no longer keep Highway in the N.O.P. stable and to replace him, as it were, with Pretty Woman.”
“It is an honour to ride a horse with such an illustrious career, and I hope to be able to make justice to his history while showcasing his amazing abilities,” Lillie Keenan commented to World of Showjumping. “It is a huge privilege to get this opportunity, and I hope to make his owners proud.”
