Jack Dodd, one of Ireland’s most promising jumping riders, was involved in a single car collision near Weert, Belgium on Wednesday morning last week.

“He was taken to the Maastricht University Hospital where he is getting fantastic round the clock care to ensure he has the best chance at a full recovery. Jack is stable and holding strong, the doctors are keeping him asleep for the time being in order to help his body recover from the head trauma and broken bones he suffered as a result of the collision. His condition is not life threatening and we will keep everyone in the loop should there be any further updates,” reads a statement from Dodd’s family.

The 25-year-old Irish rider, a former member of the prestigious Young Riders Academy back in 2016, runs his own stable in Balen, Belgium and competes successfully at the highest level of the sport. He has represented Ireland in numerous Nations Cups and European Championships as a junior and young rider.

World of Showjumping would like to wish Jack a full and fast recovery.
