After a successful year with Mclain Ward in the saddle, Poden Farms’ Kasper van het Hellehof (Emerald van’t Ruytershof x Nabab de Reve) has been sold – with Ward keeping the ride. It’s the Kasper Group which has acquired the 12-year-old stallion from Poden Farms, securing him for Ward. “I am extremely happy that Mclain gets to keep Kasper,” Neil Moffitt commented on behalf of Poden Farms. “He has worked extremely hard and is now seeing the fruits of his labour with Kasper. I am excited for him and look forward to watching his success.”
Poden Farms bought Kasper van het Hellehof as a 9-year-old, and the stallion was brought up in the classes by their riders Emily Moffitt, Cameron Hanley and Ben Maher. At the beginning of 2021, Ward took over the reins and through the year the pair had lots of success, placing third in the CN International presented by Rolex at Spruce Meadows and more recently finishing second in the CSI5* Major League Show Jumping Grand Prix at Desert International Horse Park as two of many highlights.
“I am grateful for the opportunity the Moffitt-family and their Poden Farms have given me over the last year to ride Kasper and grow with him successfully at the very top of the sport,” Ward commented. “I am pleased to announce that the Kasper Group has generously secured him for me to continue to ride and compete. I’m looking forward to the 2022-season.”
