Darragh Kenny has acquired Katrin Eckermann’s success mare Caleya (Calido I x Lancer II). Together with her father Otmar, Katrin has produced the now the 11-year-old mare all the way to five-star Grand Prix level. The pair won last year’s CSI4* Grand Prix of Hagen, and has several other victories to look back at from Neumünster, Opglabbeek and Peelbergen – to mention some.
“For the past years, Caleya has been my best horse. She brought me back to five-star level,” Katrin comments to World of Showjumping. “My father and I bought her when she was two years old. He rode her until she was eight, won a lot with her as well as finishing fourth at the FEI WBFSH Jumping World Breeding Championship for Young Horses in Lanaken in 2015.”
“I’m really sad to sell Caleya, but also excited to see her with one of the best riders in the world. I wish Darragh all the best with her,” Katrin says.
To World of Showjumping, Darragh comments: “I am very excited to have Caleya. I think she is a top horse, and Katrin has done a super job producing her.”
