Kent Farrington's 15-year-old mare Austria 2 (Casall x San Patrignano Corrado) retires from the sport, the current world number eleven announced today.

On his official Instagram account, Farrington wrote: "Austria 2 returns to Take The High Road Farm to retire from international sport. Austria retires happy and sound winning everything from speed classes to 5* Grand Prix. Thank you to owners Karen and Glen for the opportunity and thank you to Austria for a fantastic run! Of her many wins, the Rolex top 10 final in Geneva is one I will never forget."

The pair that won the 19th IJRC Rolex Top 10 Final in Geneva in 2019, made their last international appearance in December 2022. They have numerous five-star victories to look back at from their time together, and were frequent winners at Spruce Meadows, as well as taking big wins in Ottawa, Toronto, Wellington and White Sulfur Springs.

At World of Showjumping, we wish Austria a very happy retirement!
