Clara Pezzoli has acquired Lorenzo De Luca’s Grand Prix horse Jappeloup (Calvaro F.C. x Heartbreaker). The 11-year-old stallion has had a good season with De Luca, placing 12th in the CSIO5* 1.60m Rolex Grand Prix of Rome, 9th in the CSI5* 1.60m Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Cannes and 10th in the CSI5* 1.60m Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Monte Carlo.
Pezzoli – a 31-year-old Italian rider – is part of the Global Champions League-team Paris Panthers, and has ahead of next season strengthened her string of horses with the arrival of Jappeloup.
"Jappeloup has been very good to me this season, showing a lot of consistency in the five-star Grand Prix classes; jumping clear in Shanghai, Rome, Cannes and Monte Carlo," De Luca – who is just coming back to competing after an injury he sustained in July – commented to World of Showjumping. “He has gained a lot more experience at that level during this season, and I am sure he can now help Clara step up further in the big five-star Grand Prix classes.”
"I’m very happy Jappeloup has found such a good home,” De Luca continued. “Clara is very talented and ambitious, and has a great trainer in Francesco Turturiello who already has experience at five-star level. I’m really looking forward to follow Jappeloup with Clara, and I am sure he will bring her lots of success.”
