Manuel Fernandez Saro's 12-year-old gelding Jarlin de Torres (Jarnac x Calvaro F.C.) has been sold to the United Arab Emirates, the Spanish rider confirmed to World of Showjumping after announcing the sale in social media.
“Bittersweet feeling this weekend as we patted, kissed and waved goodbye to the main man of the stable Jarlin de Torres as he left for his new home,” Fernandez Saro wrote. “It has been quite a journey over the last 4 years, taming the wild gangly over achiever, to finishing up having jumped 3 championships together and helping Team Spain qualify for @paris2024. We would like to thank all the team that has been part of his journey, most importantly @mjonassonn and his owner breeder @richgood114 for his unwavering trust. Good luck Jarlin, we will miss you. Looking forward to following you in your next chapter."
"There is not much to say," Fernandez Saro commented to World of Showjumping. "It will be difficult to find another horse like him, but this is life."
Fernandez Saro has competed Jarlin de Torres for the past five years, helping the Spanish team qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games at the 2023 European Championships in Milan, Italy. The two also took part at the 2022 World Championships in Herning, Denmark, as well as the 2021 European Championships in Riesenbeck, Germany.
