Michel Sorg, former Chef d’Equipe of the Swiss jumping team, has been appointed to the FEI Jumping Committee for the four-year term 2023-2027. Sorg replaces Sweden’s Henrik Ankarcrona, an outgoing member of the committee.

Sorg, who was appointed Swiss Chef d’Equipe in August 2020, stepped over to a new role as CEO of the Swiss Equestrian Federation on October 1st – and will now, alongside his new job, take up the position as a member of the FEI Jumping Committee.

“It is a big honour to have been elected,” Sorg commented to World of Showjumping. “I am thankful to Swiss Equestrian, my federation, that has supported my candidacy. I have always said that I want to be involved as much as possible in my sport and this is a new step in that direction. If you want to develop your sport, you have to take time for it and be engaged in committees like this one. I am really looking forward to work with my colleagues in the FEI Jumping Committee. We all have to work together and set priorities so that we can act constructively together for our horses and our sport.”
