The talented stallion Never Lose v/d Wolfsakker (Lector vd Bisschop x Tolano van’t Riethof) has been acquired in partnership between American rider Lillie Keenan and Hagenhorst Horses, uniting their ambitions in both top-level sport and breeding.
The 7-year-old Never Lose, bred by B.J.L. van der Kloet from Poppel, Belgium, was acquired as a foal by Herman Verhagen. Never Lose received his training at Hagenhorst Horses under their stable rider Marco Sas. At an early age, he was licensed and approved by both KWPN and Zangersheide.
Last year, Charlotte Verhagen took over the reins, successfully competing the stallion at international level. Thanks to the mediation of Charlotte's husband Johnny Pals, the collaboration with Lillie Keenan was eventually established.
“I am looking forward to developing a partnership with Never Lose in collaboration with Hagenhorst Horses,” Lillie Keenan commented to World of Showjumping. “This collaboration with Johnny Pals and the Verhagen-family is built on friendship and our shared commitment to the sport.”
Never Lose is a son of Lector vd Bisschop (Bamako de Muze x For Pleasure), who himself has competed successfully up to 1.55m level with Koen Vereecke. His dam, Watch Me vd Wolfsakker, is by Tolano van ’t Riethof and out of the renowned 1.50m mare Barones. Barones is the dam of the world-class showjumper Gancia de Muze – who earned over €1.8 million in prize money – as well as several other international Grand Prix horses.
“Due to Never Lose’s exceptional genetics, he will remain available for breeding at Hagenhorst Horses alongside focusing on his career in international sport,” Johnny Pals explained to World of Showjumping. “We are looking forward to seeing him develop further in the sport will Lillie, and are excited for what the future will bring.”
