The collaboration between Mexican rider Alberto Michan and the La Silla Stud has come to an end. Studforlife.com reports that Alfonso Romo, the man behind the famous La Silla-horses, and Michan parted ways at the end of December. After Michan’s last competition flying the La Silla-colors, his two best horses Camilo LS La Silla and Carusso LS La Silla went to double World and European Champion Jeroen Dubbeldam.
This week, Michan made his first competition for his new employers Ilan Ferder and Tal Milstein in Wellington taking over the reins on Baronez, Czardas and Heros de Papignies – previously seen under Kirsten Coe.
“I can not thank the people at La Silla enough for the wonderful time I have spent there,” Michan says to Stud for Life.
Michan's biggest success during his time with the La Silla Stud came with Rosalia La Silla, that the Mexican rider won two silver and one bronze medal with at the 2010 and 2011 Pan Am Games as well as finishing 5th individually at the 2012 Olympic Games.
