Nicolas Delmotte’s Ilex VP (Diamant de Semilly x Darco, bred by Alex van Pollaert) will be retired from sport, the French rider has shared with World of Showjumping.

Delmotte has produced Ilex from the young horse classes up to the highest level: The two were part of the French team at the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon, helped the French to victory in the CSIO5* Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup in St. Gallen that same year, and in 2017 they won the CSI5* Rolex Grand Prix in Dinard. The pair also took several 3* and 4* Grand Prix wins together, as well as numerous podium finishes.

“He is seventeen now, and even though he is still in super shape, he deserves this,” Delmotte told World of Showjumping. “I want to thank Beatrice Mertens – the owner of Ilex – for the trust and the friendship we have built during our years together.”

At World of Showjumping, we wish Ilex a very happy retirement!
