Niels Bruynseels is the new rider of the 10-year-old Danish warmblood mare Holstein’s Matina (Party Dance x Charmeur).
The mare has up until recently been ridden by Sweden’s Karin Martinsen, who won the CSI3* Grand Prix at Sommerstedt with her last year as well as taking victories in Peelbergen and Spangenberg.
Bred and owned by the Holstein-family, owner René Holstein comments in a press release:
“I am really happy and excited to have a rider like Niels Bruynseels for Matina. I have had many inquiries regarding Matina from other big names in the sport. I look forward to seeing Niels Bruynseels and Holstein’s Matina together.
Holstein’s Matina is a horse that keeps on delivering. Last year she won the 3* 1.50m Grand Prix at Absolut Horses. In addition, she’s won a 3* 1.50m class in Sprangenberg and 2* 1.45m in Kronenberg. She was flawless at the 5* CSIO event in Falsterbo.
As a youngster she became the only horse to have ever competed in the Falsterbo finals as a 5, 6 and 7-year-old. At the 5 and 6-year-old finals she placed in the top 5. At the 7-year-old final she won. My hope is, that she will exceed from 1.50m to 1.60m at the big events.
Niels has been interested in Matina for a long time. It’s been 1 ½ year since we first talked about Matina. We’re very happy that we finally have an agreement with Niels Bruynseels, and Matina is already with Niels in Belgium.”
