Petronella Andersson’s Olympke Van’t Merelsnest (Vigo d’Arsouilles x Quick Star, bred by Stoeterij Merelsnest) has been sold to Great Britain.
With Andersson in the saddle, the 11-year-old mare was part of the winning Swedish team in the CSIO5* Nations Cup in Falsterbo, Sweden, this summer. The two have also recorded several other wins and top-three finishes on five-star level, and most recently they placed 6th in the CSIO5* 1.60m Rolex Grand Prix at the Brussels Stephex Masters in Belgium – their final international appearance together.
“Olympke, from a talented young horse to a 5-* Grand Prix horse, your journey has been nothing short of magical,” Andersson wrote on social media. “The 2025 season brought us great successes, and I’m so proud of what we’ve accomplished. You’re more than just a horse—you’re a powerhouse and a true companion. I’m grateful for the lessons you’ve taught me about resilience and hard work paying off. Thank you to @stephan_conter and @helenastormanns for pushing and convincing me to trust the journey and most of all you, Olympke. And to my incredible team – @radbernie, @stina_brodin, @stephexstables—your support has been invaluable. Wishing you all the best with your new rider—I have no doubt you’ll achieve great things together!”
