Philipp Weishaupt’s European silver medallist and Olympic partner Zineday (Zinedine x Polydor) has been sold, and will in the future be seen with USA's 26-year-old Eve Jobs.
Born and produced at Ludger Beerbaum’s yard in Riesenbeck, Germany, Zineday was ridden by Weishaupt’s colleague Christian Kukuk until July 2021, when Weishaupt’s horse owner Alice Lawaetz bought the talented gelding.
"I would have loved to keep riding him, but this is part of the job," Weishaupt said to World of Showjumping about the sale of one of the world's best horses. "I wish Zineday and Eve all the best for their future together."
With Weishaupt in the saddle, the now 10-year-old-gelding jumped into the international spotlight at the age of 9 when finishing third in the €1.5 million CSIO5* 1.60m Rolex Grand Prix of Aachen, followed by an individual silver medal at the FEI European Championship in Milan later that summer. In November 2023, Zineday and Weishaupt helped the GCL-team Riesenbeck International powered by Kingsland Equestrian win the €6.5 million GCL Super Cup Final in Prague after a clear round.
This year, the pair jumped double clear in the CSIO5* 1.60m Barrière Nations Cup in La Baule to help Germany to the win, before being selected for the Olympic Games in Paris where they jumped clear in both rounds of the team competition. Their last international appearance together was in August, when they jumped clear in the CSI5* 1.60m GCL team class in Rome.
Weishaupt has described Zineday as “probably the best horse I have ever had – and I have had a couple of good ones."
