Alexander Onischenko continues to strengthen the Ukrainian team’s string of horses ahead of the 2016 Olympics. This time it is Carlos Lopez’s Prince de la Mare that will join Onischenko’s ever-expanding stables.
With Lopez in the saddle, Prince de la Mare – a 13-year-old gelding by Bequin de Moens x Socrate de Chivre – won the 2014 World Cup in Madrid as well as ending second at this year’s leg at the same venue. The two have many podium finishes at five-star level, and also competed at the 2014 World Equestrian Games in Normandy together.
Before Lopez, it was Italy’s Juan Carlos Garcia that rode Prince de la Mare and the pair was on the Italian team for the 2013 European Championships.
