After a long and successful career, Geir Gulliksen’s loyal partner L’Espoir has been retired at the age of 20.

The gelding by Landwind II x Feinschnitt I competed at the 2006 World Championships with Germany’s Ludger Beerbaum to win team bronze before he was sold and Gulliksen took over the reins. The pair represented Norway at the 2007 and 2011 European Championships as well as at the 2010 World Championships, and has countless of good results at international Grand Prix level to look back at.

As a gesture to Gulliksen's long-time groom Eva Beate Terkelsen, she was given L’Espoir that now will enjoy the retirement with her by his side.
