Johannes Ehning's top horse Salvador V (Calvados x Voltaire) will be retired at the age of 17.  Salvador V has had a very successful career up to CSI5* level, winning classes in Donaueschingen, Vienna, Kiel, Munich, Nörten-Hardenberg, Münster as well as being part of Germany's winning Nations Cup team in Wellington. During 2016 Ehning and Salvador V were 2nd in Offenburg Grand Prix and last weekend they won one class in Nörten-Hardenberg.

Ehning rode Salvador V for the last nine years and tell WoSJ that he is very happy for his time with the horse, and grateful that he now can give Salvador V his well deserved retirement.

"I will now send Salvador V to Winley Farm, the family yard in New York, where he will have a wonderful retirement," Salvador's owner Judith Göckel tells WoSJ and adds: "It is sad that we have reached the end of such an awesome career, but I'm very happy that we can retire him when he still is as healthy and fit as ever."
