Switzerland's Martin Fuchs – reigning European Champion – has today announced that the 11-year-old gelding Silver Shine (Califax x Balou du Rouet) in the future will be seen under his compatriot Niklaus Schurtenberger. Previously competed by Jaroslaw Skrzyczynski (POL) and Paris Sellon (USA), Silver Shine did his last international start with Fuchs in the saddle at CSI4* Hubside Jumping in Grimaud, France, this October. With Fuchs, Silver Shine had several podium finishes in big classes at venues such as Aachen, Geneva, Lyon, Spruce Meadows, Treffen and Wellington.
"I’m very pleased that Silver will stay in Switzerland," Fuchs writes on his homepage. "The new pair is sure to strengthen the Swiss team for the upcoming season. Thank you to my owner Luigi Baleri for giving me the opportunity to ride such a great horse. We wish Silvers new owner Sascha Rikart and Niklaus the best of luck!"
