Sterrehof's Baccarat (Padinus x Silvio I), one of Marc Houtzager's top horses over the last years, has been sold to Mexico.
With Houtzager in the saddle, the 12-year-old gelding has recorded podium placings in Grand Prix classes in Donaueschingen, Kapellen, Münster as well as a win in Oliva. This year, Sterrehof's Baccarat jumped with a single time penalty in the CSIO5* Nations Cup of Aachen.
On Stud Sterrehof's website, Houtzager states: "Baccarat is a very good horse. He was barely nine years old when he successfully did a five-star Grand Prix, and he has been at the highest level for almost four years. I had him together with Stoeterij Sterrehof for six years, and with such a horse you really develop a bond. Somehow it's a shame, but he goes to a super stable and a super rider. In that respect I have a good feeling that he ends up in the right place."
