US Equestrian has announced its jumping team for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France.
The American jumping team for Paris consists of the following horse-and-rider combinations:
- Kent Farrington and Greya (born Contina 47, by Colestus x Contender, breeder Wilfried Sandmann), owned by Kent Farrington LLC, groom Denise Moriarty
- Laura Kraut and Baloutinue (by Balou du Rouet x Landor S, breeder Heinrich Meyer), owned by St. Bride’s Farm, groom Margo Thomas
- McLain Ward and Ilex (by Baltic VDL x Chin Chin, breeder G. Maris), owned by Bonne Chance Farm and McLain Ward, groom Virginie Casterman
Karl Cook and Caracole de La Roque (Zandor Z x Kannan, breeder S.A.R.L. Top Stallion Company) have been selected as the alternates.
“We are very lucky to have three of the most experienced athletes in the sport riding horses that are in top form heading into the Games. Additionally, we have a strong alternate athlete horse combination in Karl and Caracole who have shown great recent form," said Chef d'Equipe Robert Ridland in a press release from US Equestrian. "Now that selection is complete, we are 100% laser-focused on Paris."
