Malin Baryard-Johnsson’s faithful partner Tornesch steps out of the top sport. The 16-year-old stallion by Lux Z x Libero H will no longer compete among the world’s best, but will instead dedicate himself to breeding as well as playing the part as school master for his owners’ daughters.
In a statement on Facebook, Tornesch’s owners Helena Hugoson-Feldt and Thomas Feldt write: “Thank you so much Tornesch for all the wonderful moments you have given us, your rider and Sweden during your career on the highest level in this sport. We are very happy to have Tornesch back in our stable after 8 years in sport at Malin’s place. Thank you Malin for taking very good care of our stallion. Tornesch will now continue with breeding both in Sweden and in France and also be a schoolmaster for our both daughter.”
With Malin in the saddle, Tornesch competed at the 2011 and 2015 European Championships as well as at the 2011, 2013 and 2014 World Cup Finals. The two have been one of Sweden’s most reliable couple for years, and have several podium finishes together from Nations Cups, World Cups and Grand Prix competitions to look back at.
