VDL Bubalu was retired from the sport last night during a beautiful ceremony at the KWPN Stallion Show in Den Bosch. All the people who have played an important role in Bubalu’s life were present for the occasion. An emotional Jur Vrieling said this about his amazing partner: “I’ve had lots of very special moments in my life with Bubalu: Calgary, Mierlo, London, Caen, and Barcelona. I’ll miss him in the sport, but I’ll really miss his personality. He had a special stall at our place from where he could look out over the whole property.”

With Vrieling, VDL Bubalu has had huge success – the pair was on the gold medal winning Dutch team at the World Championships in Normandy as well as winning team silver at the Olympics in 2012, not to forget that they have contributed to Dutch Nation Cups wins in Barcelona, Aachen and Dublin.
