Victoria Gulliksen's 2024 Olympic partner Mistral Van De Vogelzang (Elvis Ter Putte x Clinton) has been sold to the U.S., the Norwegian rider announced on social media on Friday.
Gulliksen and 12-year-old gelding have recorded many top placings on five-star level and the two represented Norway at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris last summer, qualifying for the individual final.
"Dear Mistral, you've been our friend, beach pony, cookie monster, and Olympic finalist," Gulliksen wrote on social media. "We've shared countless memories, ribbons, moments of laughter, and quiet times of understanding. Saying goodbye is one of the hardest things we've had to do, but we take comfort in knowing your next chapter holds new adventures. We trust you'll be cherished by a family who will love you just as much as we have. Thank you for every ride, for your heart of gold, your unwavering motivation, and for simply being you. You will always have a place in our hearts. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has been part of this incredible journey. We know you'll continue to make us proud. See you around, dear friend."
