Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Young Riders Academy has moved on to digital training. During the coming weeks, YRA will be sharing training videos with professionals such as Jos Lansink and Franke Sloothaak.

To support YRA riders who have completed the program, the Board has also decided to offer fitness programs, mental coaching sessions and specific trainings to improve strength in horses and riders.

“In difficult situations we must find suitable solutions!” said YRA board member Eleonora Ottaviani. “With the impossibility of delivering the technical program foreseen for our riders today, we decided to shape a digital working package. The training is made thanks to the precious partnership with the YRA professionals who are Olympic medallists with the passion and pleasure to support talented young athletes. We are convinced that YRA riders can take advantage of the time those professionals have dedicated to us and will properly exploit this digital opportunity in time of social distancing, waiting to meet again soon”.

Sven Holmberg, YRA sport manager, added: “2020 is unprecedented in our lifetime and hopefully we will never have to go through this situation again. Most of our everyday routines have changed completely, things we were taking for granted are no longer possible. It will, however, not last forever, we just don´t know now how long it will take until we are back into a situation that feels normal again. Maybe we will even come back to newer and improved circumstances due to what has happened during these months.”
