The Rolex Grand Prix of Aachen is something very special and a class everyone is dreaming about winning. Here are some highlights from the class and first one out is Mr. Aachen himself. Scott Brash won the Aachen Grand Prix last year with Hello Sanctos and ended second this year with Ursula XII. All photos (c) Jenny Abrahamsson.

Sergio Alvarez Moya's Carlo always looks that he has the time of his life while in the course and this time the result was good enough for third place.

Andreas Kreuzer and Calvilot ended on 19th place, just outside the 18 that qualified for the second round.

9th place for Judy-Ann Melchior and As Cold As Ice Z after 5 faults in the first round and a clear second round.

Daniel Deusser with Equita van't Zorgvliet was 1,5 seconds faster than Judy-Ann and secured 8th place with 5 faults.

Just love the way Cortes 'C' is jumping with his front legs. Beezie Madden finished 7th and was one of very few that got around the first course without time faults.

It is something very special with this horse. HH Azur always looks like she has everything under control. This time McLain Ward and the mare ended 6th.

Janne-Friederike Meyer and her big jumping Goja 27 finished 13th with 13 penalties.

It was Aachen debut for Jonna Ekberg and together with Air Pia V Z she did a really good first round inside the time allowed. Unfortunately 8 faults towards the end of the course placed them as number 20.

The distance between fence 4 and 5 got all wrong for Ludger Beerbaum and Chiara, with no chance to clear the water.  After Chiara placed all four legs in the water, Ludger decided to retire.

15th place was the result for Marco Kutscher and Van Gogh after a total of 9 faults.

It is very impressive to be double clear in the nations cup on Thursday and then take another two challenging rounds on Sunday to finish 4th in the Grand Prix. Well, that is exactly what Marcus Ehning and Pret a Tout did.

Simon Delestre's Qlassic Bois Margot stumbled in the landing after nr 7, but got back up and finished the first round with a total of 9 faults.

Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum and Fibonacci had a fantastic weekend in Aachen, but their performances was probably shadowed by the news that they will travel to Rio as reserves on the German team.
