After an unlucky jump-off in Sunday’s Championat in Mannheim, Albert Zoer and Gigolo (Cicero x Quickfeuer van Koekshof) were spot on in Tuesday’s Grand Prix. The 1.55 class had a little over fifty riders in it, but nobody could match the Dutch rider and his nine year old grey gelding that were 0.25 seconds faster than runner-up Mario Stevens on Baloubet (Balou du Rouet x Grandeur) in the jump-off.
It was a good day for the German rider Mario Stevens, who also won the youngster tour final earlier in the day. In third place followed another Dutch rider; Leopold van Asten on VDL Groep Zidane (Heartbreaker x Calando I), who was over two seconds behind on the winning time. The fourth and final double clear of the day belonged to Switzerland's Romain Duguet on Sherazade du Gevaudan (Tinka's Boy x Iago C).
