Ales Opatrny (CZE) was the best of the 44 riders in Friday's CSI4* Gestüt Römerhof Masters in Salzburg. The 1.50m competition counted for the Longines FEI World Ranking and as a qualifier for Sunday's 100.000 Euro Gaston Glock's Grand Prix of Salzburg, so the riders went all in against the clock.
Aboard the 13-year-old Dimaro vd Looise Heide (Kashmir van Schuttershof x Flamenco de Semilly), Opatrny secured the win with a time of 61.78 seconds. The winner of Thursday's opening four-star class, Robert Smith (GBR), finished as runner-up on Cimano E (Unaniem x Chemnitz) stopping the clock at 63.87 seconds. Felix Haßmann (GER) finished third with Cayenne WZ (Claudio x Ramirado) in 64.35 seconds, while Constant van Paesschen (BEL) was fourth and Julia Kayser (AUT) fifth.
