The current world number three, Great Britain’s Ben Maher and the 13-year-old mare Ginger-Blue (Plot Blue x Royal Bravour) won Thursday’s CSI4* 1.50m Prix Haras de Gassin in St. Tropez, France.
Stopping the clock on 64.64 in a class judged as a Table A against the clock, Maher and Ginger-Blue bested a field of 81 horse-and-rider-combinations, taking the win ahead of the hosts’ Philippe Rozier (FRA) and Dirty Sweet (Cornet Obolensky x Lavillon) in second in 65.21 and Julien Epaillard (FRA) aboard Dubai de Soie (Quaoukoura du TY x Heartbreaker) in third in 65.38.
Jérôme Guery (BEL) and Great Britain V (Nabab de Reve x Carolus H) finished fourth in 65.67, followed by Cedric Hurel (FRA) and Fantasio Floreval Z (Florian de la Vie x Clinton) in fifth in 67.09.
