Brazil’s Bernardo Alves and the 11-year-old stallion El Torreo de Muze (Taran de la Pomme x Vigo d'Arsouilles) went to the top in Sunday's CSI4* 1.55m Grand Prix Ville de Bourg-en-Bresse.
Only two riders managed to make it to the jump-off, both with a time-fault in the first round- Fastest against the clock was Alves who was clear in 41.85 seconds. Laurent Goffinet was best on behalf of the hosts, following in second place with Atome des Etisses (Mylord Carthago *HN x Quidam de Revel) after recording four faults in a time of 42.31 seconds.
The rest of the top five was also filled by French riders: Julien Anquetin and Blood Diamond du Pont (Diamant de Semilly x Arpege Pierreville *HN) – winners of Friday's 1.50m class – ended third with four faults in the first round, followed by Alexis Deroubaix with Kitona de Muze (Diamant de Semilly x Argpege de Pierreville *HN) in fourth and Benoit Cernin with Vitalhorse Seurat Galotiere (Iowa x Super de Bourriere) – also both with four faults in round one.
