Germany's Carsten-Otto Nagel was first to go in the jump-off in the Championat of Nörten-Hardenberg, and in the end he was the only double clear rider in the class. Nagel rode the 14 year old Holiday By Solitour (Contendro x Cascavelle).
As many as five riders managed to be faster than Nagel, but all of them ended the track with four faults. Friso Bormann with Crazy Cato (Calido I x Crazy Coctail) was the fastest of them, followed by Dermott Lennon with Loughview Lou-Lou (Limmerick x Jack of Diamonds), Felix Hassmann with Horse Gym's Quali Quanti (Quidam de Revel x Non Stop), Cameron Hanley with Z Acodate Ddl (Acord II x Aldatus) and Gerrit Schepers with Czerny N (Cassini I x Alcatraz).
Holiday by Solitour has been out for a longer time and this was his biggest show back after the injury. "We took our time to build him up again and he still needs some time, but I think we are on the right way. He feels good and even though he is the lazier type you can go in to the jump-off and he is a real pal fighting for you," Carsten-Otto Nagel said after his win and ads with a laugh "Holiday is not the fastest horse and we won by luck since we were the only double clear. I try to be fast in the jump-offs, but he is like he is and he needs time over the fences so I have to hope that the rest get faults and today they did."
Second placed Friso Bormann was very pleased with his result: "I normally don't ride on this level and it feels really good to be second. Before the show I thought that if my horse and I was in a really good mood we might be able to be clear in one of the big classes, but I didn't except it to go this well. My aunt has bred him and I got him together with my sister."
