Germany's Christian Ahlmann and the 9-year-old Otterongo Alpha Z (Darco x Hedjaz, bred by Josef Poets) won Saturday's CSI5*-W 1.55m Grand Prix in Riaydh (KSA).
With a time of 33.88, Ahlmann was the fastest in a jump-off between three horse-and-rider-combinations – besting the field of 20 participants. Italy's Emanuele Gaudiano and Chalou (Chacco-Blue x Baloubet du Rouet, bred by Gestüt Lewitz) took the runner-up spot with their time of 34.38, while France's former world number one Simon Delestre and Olga van de Kruishoeve (El Torre de Muze x Nabab de Reve, bred by Eric Polfliet) placed third in 34.46.
With one time fault from round one, Rashid Towaim Ali Al Marri (QAT) and Concordess NRW (Congress 4 x Acobat 3, bred by Delia Brügmann) finished fourth, while Janakabhorn Karunayadhaj (THA) and Maxwin Kinmar Agalux (Aganix du Seigneur Z x Lux Z, bred by Gerrard Marron) followed in fifth after collecting four faults in the first round.
