Emily Turkington (IRL) and Cornet (Cornet’s Prinz x Clarimo) won Saturday’s CSI4* 1.50m presented by Equiline at Equieffe Equestrian Centre in Gorla Minore, Italy.
A clear round in 65.06 seconds secured Turkington the win ahead of Barbara Schnieper (SUI) and Toronto Raptor (Totilas x Corofino 2) who had to settle for second with a time of 66.65. The third place went to Piergiorgio Bucci (ITA), who delivered a clear round in 67.90 seconds aboard Emerald's Dream (Emerald x Nabab de Reve), while Anthony Bourquard (SUI) on Ecuador de la Cense (Kannan x Skippy II) and Pia Reich (GER) aboard PB Djazz d'Arvor (Quarz de Talma x Le Tot de Semilly) rounded off the top five.
“I’m really happy with how the class went,” Turkington said in a press release from Equieffe Equestrian Centre. “The course was spot on, very well designed, and I had a feeling I could win from the start. I was fast in the first half of the round and then very focused afterwards. My horse jumped brilliantly and has been in great form these past few months.”
