Two weeks of international competition concluded at Club Hipico Coapexpan in Xalapa, Mexico on Sunday with the victory of Mexican Olympic rider Enrique González and Chacna (Chacco-Blue x Narew XX) in the CSI4* 1.55m Grand Prix.
A total of 35 horse-and-rider combinations from six Latin American countries participated in the first round where the course was designed by Brazil's Anderson Lima. Only 15 of them returned for the second round, where two riders yet again managed to deliver clear rounds: Enrique González who took the top honours with Chacna followed by Paola Amilibia (MEX) with Gaudi (Ogano Sitte x Calvaro F.C.) in runner-up position. Third and fourth went to Juan Carlos Martín del Campo (MEX) on Dimitri (Up To Date x Ircolando) and Salvador Oñate (MEX) on Beautiful Red (Casall x Colman) with one time fault each in the second round. The Pasquel-brothers (MEX) – Patricio and Francisco – followed in fifth and sixth place.
