It's been quiet around Gerco Schröder (NED) and his 15-year-old super-star Glock's London (Nabab de Reve x Chin Chin) lately, but that changed tonight as the two returned with a bang to win the CSI4* Grand Prix of Salzburg presented by Sportland worth 100,000 Euro.

Quietly building up from jumping 1.20m one-stars in September, the pair has found their form over the autumn and today they hit it big with victory in the 1.60m Grand Prix on Austrian soil.

Nine of the fourty horse-and-rider combinations in the class produced clears over the first round 1.60m track to move on to the jump-off, where the world-class couple were the best taking the top honours with a time of 40.22 seconds.

Runner-up position went to Lars Nieberg (GER) on the 9-year-old Foster (For Edition x Adlantus AS), who stopped the clock at 40.75 seconds. Schröder's compatriot Marc Houtzager (NED) took the third place on Sterrehof's Calimero (Quidam de Revel x Achill / Libero H) in 41.40 seconds. Fourth place went to Philipp Züger (SUI) on Casanova F Z (Clinton x Darco), and Judy Ann Melchior ended fifth on Clintrexo Z (Clintissimo Z x Rex Z) with the last two clear rounds of the jump-off.

"I am very happy about this result, as London has been out for a longer period of time due to injury. Now he is back, jumping really good and feels super. I would really like to come back to Salzburg, it is a beautiful show," concluded the winner Gerco Schröder after the Grand Prix.
