Gregory Wathelet (BEL) and his 10-year-old mare Argentina de la Marchette (Acajou de la Marchette x Del Piero PB) won Friday's feature class at the Andalucía Sunshine Tour 2022, the CSI4* 1.50m Grand Prix qualifier Cervezas Victoria Trophy.
Ten of the 77 horse-and-rider combinations in this world ranking class qualified for the jump-off, where six delivered clear rounds. Fastest was Wathelet with his homebred Argentina de la Marchette, stopping the clock at 34.78 seconds. Olivier Perreau (FRA) and GL Events Venzia D’Aiguilly (Diamant de Semilly x Quick Star’) took the runner-up position after clocking a time of 36.17 seconds, while Maksymilian Wechta (POL) and Chepettano (Chepetto x Calido I) took the third place with a time of 36.55 seconds. Two Swiss riders followed in fourth and fifth: Thibaut Keller with Happy Girl T (Sandro Boy x Coltaire Z) and Alain Jufer with Dante NM (Diarado x Luxius).
The CSI4* 1.45m Medium Tour was also a class counting for the world ranking, and was won by Leopold Van Asten (NED) on VDL Groep Urane de Talma (Argentinus x Landor S) with a time of 20.41 in the second phase. Olivier Perreau and GL Events Dolce Deceuninck (Toulon x Cartier vd Heffinck) followed in second place after recording a time of 21.01, while third place went to Aurelia Loser (SUI) with Anaba Haize (Ravage de Mars x Indoctro II).
