Hans-Dieter Dreher (GER) and Prinz 1293 (Perigueux x Escudo I) took their second win in as many days when taking the top honours in Saturday’s CSI2* 1.45m class at Riesenbeck International. After crossing the finish line in 62.37 seconds, Dreher was half a second faster than runner-up Marcus Ehning (GER) and Cristy (Canturo x Landlord).

Third place went to Steve Guerdat (SUI) with Ulysse des Forets (Col Canto x Les Tot des Semilly), while Chloe Reid (USA) ended fourth with Souper Shuttle (Stakkato x La Zarras) and Thibeau Spits (BEL) fifth with Juragold Bormes (Contact van de Heffinck x Landino).

This 1.45m class also counted as the second round in the German Championship for women, with the final round following for the top twelve ranked riders. Finja Bormann and A crazy son of Lavina (Azzuro Classico x Lavall I) took the gold medal, while the silver medal went to Barbara Steurer-Collee with Quantus 14 (Quantum x Cardino) and the bronze to Sarah Nagel-Tornau with Carouge 8 (Carinue x Papillon Rouge). “When my horse is bucking in the warm-up, I know it is going to be good,” the 24-year-old Bormann smiled after the victory.
