Press release from Jumping Indoor Maastricht

At CSI4* Jumping Indoor Maastricht, the first qualification for Sunday's Longines Trophy – the VDL Groep Prize – had a field of 43 horse-and-rider combinations in it of which 16 reached the jump-off and ten of them were Dutch. Hence, it could hardly be otherwise than a Dutch win.

It was Henk van de Pol who finally set the fastest time with Looyman Z (Numero Uno x Wellington) in 32.84 seconds. “It was a nice jump-off. There were not many opportunities to save time, but Looyman is naturally very fast. I have to make sure that I just ride along, and then he often wins. He also did well in Oslo and Helsinki. I still wanted to ride Maastricht, but there is not much else planned for this year," Van de Pol commented.

It was an all Dutch podium as Maikel van der Vleuten finished second with the nine-year-old Beauville Z (Bustique x Jumpy des Fontaines) in 33.72 seconds, and Jur Vrieling followed in third place with Comino (Cassini II x Corrado I).
