Sweden's Henrik von Eckermann and the 13-year-old mare Glamour Girl (VDL Zirocco Blue x Caletto I) won Saturday's CSI5* 1.45m winning round – counting for the Longines Rankings Group D – in Monterrey, Mexico.
With the smallest of margins, the current world number one clocked a time of 37.80 seconds and snatched the win ahead of Germany's Daniel Deusser and Bingo Ste Hermelle (Number One d'Iso x Diamant de Semilly) who had to settle for the second place only a fraction behind in 37.90.
"Once again, Glamour Girl jumped great," von Eckermann told World of Showjumping. "This was a nice way to end our tour here in Mexico, which I have enjoyed."
Sameh El Dahan (GBR) and WKD Aimez Moi (Je t'Aime Flamenco x Fleuri du Manoir) placed third after clocking a time of 39.36, ahead of the hosts' Carlos Hank Guerreiro (MEX) and H5 Ganesh Hero Z (Gemini x Diamant de Semilly) in fourth in 40.12 and Natalie Dean (USA) aboard Crescendo MB Z (Clinton x Jodokus) in fifth in 43.57.
