Sweden’s Henrik von Eckermann – current world number three – and Glamour Girl (VDL Zirocco Blue x Caletto I) won Saturday’s CSI4* 1.45m Grand Prix Range Rover at Cabour Classic in France.
“Glamour Girl is an amazing mare, and she is going to La Baule next week so I am happy she is in shape,” von Eckermann said to Grand Prix's Sébastien Roullier. “I will not ride the Grand Prix on Sunday because I have a very important next week, so I will go home and ride my horses before La Baule.”
Sixteen pairs out of the 81 horse-and-rider combinations at start cleared their way into the deciding jump-off, where von Eckermann and Glamour Girl delivered the quickest time when crossing the timers in 36.25 seconds.
Robert Whitaker (GBR) and Gentlemen vh Veldhof (Quite Easy 958 x Calido I) took the runner-up spot with a time of 36.40, followed by Odile Gierech (LUX) and Kiss Me vh BHH (Mosito van het Hellehof x Landwind) in third in 37.19, Richard Breul (FRA) aboard Easy (Siwing de Triaval x Baloubet du Rouet) in fourth in 37.25 and Alexandra Francart (FRA) aboard Betty du Prieure (Doremi x Chellano Z) in fifth in 37.34.
