Sweden’s former world number one Henrik von Eckermann and the 15-year-old mare Glamour Girl (VDL Zirocco Blue x Caletto I) won Sunday morning’s CSI5* 1.50m Prize of Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein E.V. in Aachen.
“She is a fighter,” von Eckermann said about Glamour Girl. “She is coming close to winning 50 classes. She is 15, but she is as motivated as she was when she was ten. She is an amazing horse, and so competitive – it is a special quality to have in a horse.”
Stopping the clock on 67.30, von Eckermann and Glamour Girl took the top honours ahead of Erynn Ballard (CAN) and Fave d’Authuit (Cornet Obolensky x Kannan) in second in 67.69 and Christian Ahlmann (GER) aboard Sheeran WL (Codex One x Mozart des Hayettes) in third in 68.46. Katharina Rhomberg (AUT) with Colestus Cambridge (Colestus x Cambridge 8) followed in fourth with a time of 69.22 seconds, while Ben Maher (GBR) and Maddox vh Haringvliet Z (Monte Bellini x Ogano Sitte) finished fifth in 70.33.
