The home riders have been dominating the two 1.50 Grand Prix qualifiers held at the CSI3* Millstreet International Horse Show in Ireland. In Thursday's first qualifier presented by Horse Sport Ireland - Irish Sports Council, it was rightly enough a British rider that won - Joe Whitaker on Lola V (Locarno), but he was sorrounded by Irish riders in the top five. Alexander Butler finished second on Hallowberry Cruz (Cruising x Clover Hill) a little over two seconds behind on the time, while Damien Patrick Griffin was third, John McLaughlin fourth and Capt. Michael Kelly fifth.
In Friday's second qualifier presented by Noel C. Duggan Engineering Ltd. it was home hero Cameron Hanley that took the honors on Antello Z (Animo II Z x Continue). Another Irish rider followed in second; Daniel Coyle on Zuidam (Guidam x Indoctro) also he double clear but 1.4 seconds behind Hanley's winning time. A Spanish rider managed to sneak into third; Antonio Marinas Soto, while Paul Kennedy took fourth for Ireland and Joe Whitaker fifth for Britain.
