With his win in the CSI4* CaixaBank Grand Prix, France's Patrice Delaveau put the finishing touch to a fantastic weekend in La Coruna. The Frenchman completed the jump-off in 34.71 seconds after an incredible round with Orient Express HDC (Quick Star x Le Tot de Semilly). As last to go, Delaveau snatched the top spot from Egypt's on form rider Abdel Said and California (L’Esprit x Libero H).
Ahead of the Grand Prix Delaveau was the big favourite due to his great results during the whole weekend, and with Orient Express HDC back in shape nothing could stop him. “In this class I felt that he is again fit and he is as good as he used to be in a competition of this level. Unfortunately, he has not had time to get in shape for the Olympics,” Delaveau stated after the class.
“It is always a pleasure to come, its an extraordinary show, not only for the top level of the competition but also for the organization. The design of all the courses has been fantastic, there were good riders and the level was shown with only seven clear rounds in the first round,” Delaveau continued.
Third place went to the popular home rider Sergio Alvarez Moya and and Arryan (Baloubet du Rouet x Grannus) followed by Belgium's Gudrun Patteet and New Zealand's Samantha McIntosh.
