From press release from Sweden International Horse Show
Jessica Springsteen and Volage du Val Henry (Quidam de Revel x Cassini I) won Sunday's CSI4* 1.55m Sweden H&M Grand Prix in Stockholm.
Ten of the nineteen horse-and-rider combinations in this Grand Prix made it through to the jump-off, where Springsteen set the time to beat at 35.53 seconds – which proved unbeatable. "I know she’s fast and really careful, so I tried my best to go full speed," Springsteen commented after her win.
Closest to Springsteen came Harrie Smolders (NED) on Une de l'Othain (Conterno Grande x Cento) in 35.98 seconds, which was good enough for runner-up position. Third place went to Marlon Modolo Zanotelli (BRA) on Virtuose d'Eole (Panama Tame x Helios de la Cour II) with a time of 36.70 seconds, while Nicola Philippaerts (BEL) finished fourth with Katanga V/H Dingeshof (Cardento x Tornedo FCS) and Kevin Staut (FRA) fifth with Tolede de Mescam (Mylord Carthago *HN x Kouglof II).
The American rider was also crowned leading rider of the show. And she had only praise to give for the organisers, the arena and audience. "I love the atmosphere in this arena and I love the Swedish audience. They are really knowledgeable and cheering on us all. I’d love to come back next year!" she said.
