Friday's feature class at Longines CSI5* Ascona was the 1.50m Premio Loris Kessel Auto Lugano. Seventeen of the 47 horse-and-rider combinations in the class cleared the first round, and moved on the jump-off where Jos Verlooy (BEL) and the 14-year-old stallion Caracas (Casall x Colman) were the fastest.
Verlooy had a second separating him from runner-up Kirsten Vanderveen (USA) on Bull Run's Risen (Utopie x Indoctro), then followed two home riders with Beat Mändli in third aboard Galan S (Indoctro x Calypso d'Herbiers) and Alain Jufer in fourth aboard Cytise de la Fontaine (Calvaro x Bayard d'Elle). Fifth went to Yuri Mansur (BRA) and Casantos (Carthino Z x Orlando).
Earlier in the day, Laura Renwick (GBR) won the 1.45m Premio Hotel Eden Roc, Ascona with Arkuga (Arko III x Heartbreaker) followed by Paul Estermann (SUI) in second and Juulia Jyläs (FIN) in third.
